Turn live-class notes into a practice checklist
By SI100x · Published
A long transcript is difficult to use when you sit down to practice. A short checklist gives your notes a purpose: helping you reproduce the work and find the point where your understanding stops.
Try this exercise
- During class, record the goal and the main decisions. Keep errors and their fixes together so the correction is not separated from its cause.
- After class, rewrite the notes as actions you can attempt without replaying everything. Start with a small working result and add one change at a time.
- Mark each action as done, unclear or blocked. For an unclear action, write the exact input you tried and the result you expected before asking for help.
Check your result
Try the checklist the next day. If you can complete it without copying every line from class, it is serving its purpose. If not, add the missing explanation, not a larger pile of screenshots.
