Choose a coding course by the project you want to build
By SI100x · Published
A course title is a starting point, not a complete learning plan. Before enrolling, describe one small thing you want to build and the tasks you want to handle yourself. This turns a vague ambition into questions you can ask during a demo.
Try this exercise
- Write a project sentence: I want to build a page that lets visitors compare three options. Identify the inputs, the visible result and the person who will use it.
- Read the curriculum and mark lessons that connect to those tasks. Ask the instructor what you will implement, what background is expected and which parts are outside the course.
- Compare the schedule with your actual week. Reserve time for practice between sessions, not just attendance. A course that fits your available time is easier to use well.
Check your result
You should be able to explain why the course fits your project without relying on the title or a promise of a job. If a prerequisite is unclear, ask before paying.
