Project planning
Document a setup process that another learner can follow
By SI100x · Published
Setup instructions are useful only when they work outside the author’s memory. A practice project gives you a chance to write a clean, repeatable starting path.
Try this exercise
- List the prerequisites and the steps needed to run the project. Explain where local configuration belongs without including actual credentials or private connection strings.
- Try the instructions in a clean, approved workspace or ask a collaborator to follow them. Record missing steps and assumptions that were not written down.
- Add a short troubleshooting section for errors you actually encountered. Keep generated files and secrets out of the repository, and document the intended test command.
Check your result
A new reader should reach the starting page using the documented steps. Do not claim a setup works on environments you have not checked; state the environment used for verification.
